The third edition of the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations is scheduled to take place from the 8th to the 22nd November, 2019 in Cairo, Egypt. The tournament will determine which three African teams will compete at the 2020 Summer Olympics men’s football tournament in Japan. 8 countries are qualified for this year’s edition and divided into two groups of four teams. Nigeria, the defending champions, are seeded in Group B (Position1). The hosts Egypt are seeded in Group A (position A1. The remaining teams are allocated to two pots based on the results of the 2015 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations, and were drawn to the remaining positions in their group. The opening match, scheduled for Friday, November 8, 2019, at the Cairo International Stadium, pits Egypt against Mali.
